CRIEPI sees its mission to be "ensuring energy security" and "responding to global environmental problems."�
To fulfill it, the Institute carries out research and development with a view to solving a range of problems that the electric power industry and society are facing as a whole. CRIEPI has set major project themes based on the three main research areas. In support of these themes and with the purpose of fostering future technologies, we have also established a number of basic technology themes. Through collaboration among eight research institutes in different specialist fields, we aim to provide useful and timely findings.
