In Yokosuka site, CRIEPI, three research laboratories (Electric Power Engineering Research Laboratory, Energy Engineering Research Laboratory, Material Science Research Laboratory) and Yokosuka Operation & Service Center were established from Yokosuka Research Laboratory following specialized research laboratory reorganization.

Three past sectors were reorganized into "High Efficiency Power Generation Sector", "Advanced Fuel Utilization Sector" and "Energy Conversion Engineering Sector".
