A half of coal in the world is high moisture coal (20%-70%).


Generating efficiency is lower by use of the high moisture coal. Therefore, the CO2 emissions increases.


CRIEPI has developed a revolutionary dewatering technology using liquefied dimethyl ether (DME). This new process is capable of efficiently dewatering from high moisture coal at room temperature.
