今後の人口構造の変化が、全国各地域の経済GDPや電灯・電力需要に及ぼす影響について新たに構築した地域経済成長力モデルを用いてシミュレーション分析を行う。また、生産性(TFP)の上昇や、出生率および女性・高齢者の就業率の変化が経済成長や電灯・電力需要に及ぼす影響について感度分析を行う。年齢別就業率が現状水準のまま維持されると仮定してシミュレーションすると、就業人口の減少と民間投資の減退から各地域のGDPは2011～2031年にかけて順次ピークを迎え減少に転じるとみられる。地域別GDPのピークアウトに比べ若干遅れるものの、電灯・電力需要も順次ピークアウトを迎え（電灯で2020～2042年、電力で2013～2033年頃）、電力各社の設備計画にも大きな影響を及ぼすとみられる。

概要 （英文）

This paper examines the economic impacts of aging population on regional economy and electricity demand. Since the large regional discrepancies are observed in population growth and aging structure, we have constructed a regional demographic model by age group, and a supply-side economic growth model for the Japanese 11 regions. In the latter model, we take into account trends of labor supply and private and public capital formation for each region.. Main results of the long-term simulations using these two models are as follows.The aging population and decreasing labor force is likely to decrease the potential growth of the Japanese economy, because the growing number of elderly population has a negative effect on regional GDP growth due to a decrease in growth in both labor force and capital accumulation. Although there exist large regional differences, our results exhibit that the GDP and residential and industrial electricity demands gradually reach at their peaks after population and the number of households reaches their peak years. If the higher fertility rates and the employment rates for woman and elderly people are assumed, the peak years for regional GDP and electricity demand are delayed.
