Dr. Apostolakis and Dr. Meserve visited Shika Nuclear Power Plant on February 20, 2017. They were informed of the voluntary efforts regarding the improvement of nuclear safety and saw the safety enhancement measures and the inside of the emergency response building.
On February 21, Mr. Kanai and Dr. Apostolakis discussed topics such as the expert team reviews of the pilot projects for PRA improvement and the industry’s response to inspection reform initiatives proposed by NRA.
