規制緩和による多様な経営環境に適応して、高度なサービスを迅速に提供できる情報システムが求められている。Web サービスは、複数サービス連携により、高度なサービスを低コストで迅速に実現するための技術である。現在、Web サービスの適用先は2システム間の連携に限られている。適用範囲拡大のために、1)2システム間のメッセージングのセキュリティ・信頼性、2)複数サービスの連携に関する機能を実現する技術の標準化が進められている。Web サービスの標準化は急速に進展しており、1～2年後には、標準技術による複数サービスの連携が可能になると考えられる。現状では、2システム間の連携への既に標準化された Web サービスの技術を適用が効果的である。1～2年後には、複数サービスを動的に組み合わせて多様かつ高度なサービスを迅速に提供するシステムが低コストで実現可能になると期待される。

概要 （英文）

Ability to provide services adapted to deregulated various business environments is necessary for information systems. Web Services are system-integrating technologiesbuilt on open standards. Web Services are under standardization for enabling information systems to be integrated flexibly and rapidly and to provide services timely.In coordinating of two systems, Web Services have advantages over WWW (World Wide Web) and conventional distributed computing technology. But to apply Web Services to critical or complex applications, extensions are needed. The important issues to extend Web Services are 1)secure messaging, 2)reliable messaging, 3)transaction, 4)access control, 5)sharing of contexts, and 6)modelling of business processes. Technologies to address the issues are under standardization. It is expected that the standardization will be finished within two years.At present, applying Web Services to two-system coordination are effective in the following cases:1)coordination of two WWW applications,2)coordination of two systems with various computing environments,3)coordination of two systens over the Internet.With the progress of standardization, it is expected that applying Web Services to multi-service coordination will be effective in the following cases:1)providing information or computing resources as ASP,2)improvement of costomer-related systems,3)supporting of business processes coordinating with business peers and governments.
