広域な企業内IP網の構成手法として、レイヤ２スイッチで主に構成されている広域イーサネット方式は導入・運用・管理コストはIPルータよりも低いと考えられ、ワイヤースピードでのパケット転送処理能力と、VLAN（Virtual LAN）を用いた柔軟なネットワークアドレス設計が可能であるといった特徴を持つ。本報告では、電力用通信網への適用を目的として、要素技術の調査と適用検討を行い、回線設定、品質性能確保、信頼性確保の観点から構成手法提案する。

概要 （英文）

As a technique for composing a wide area IP network in a company, it is thought the introduction, employment and management costs of the Wide-area Ethernet Platform are lower than those of the IP router based networks, since the network is mainly constituted by layer 2 switch. It also has wire speed packet forwarding performance, and it is possible to use VLAN for flexible network address design. In this report, investigation and applicability of the Wide-area Ethernet Platform are evaluated for the purpose of application to the utility communication network, and a system configuration is proposed from the viewpoints of link setup to ensure quality and reliability.
